Many mission-driven organisations face the same structural challenge: they need to source goods and services responsibly, often under pressure, but the knowledge, supplier visibility and procurement infrastructure needed to do this well are fragmented. The result is duplication, limited comparability, missed opportunities for local sourcing and unnecessary pressure on already stretched teams.
The Foundation works to change this by developing and maintaining open-access procurement knowledge, supporting shared sourcing infrastructure, and helping non-profit actors use procurement as a practical lever for localisation, transparency, sustainability and value for money.
Solvoz Foundation is a Netherlands-based non-profit foundation established to support more responsible, effective and inclusive procurement in international aid and development cooperation.
We work from the belief that procurement is one of the most underused levers for impact. The way organisations buy determines not only what is delivered, but also which suppliers are seen, which local markets are strengthened, how transparent spending becomes, and how much long-term value is created from limited resources.
Our role is to make procurement knowledge and market infrastructure more accessible to the organisations that need it most: NGOs, humanitarian agencies, development actors, local organisations and other mission-driven institutions.
Solvoz Foundation operates independently as a non-profit foundation, with its own mission, governance and activities. Its role is to ensure that the procurement knowledge and digital infrastructure originally developed for the aid and development sector remain accessible to non-profit organisations under mission-aligned conditions.
Through open-access knowledge, NGO pricing models, sector collaboration and grant-funded programmes, the Foundation lowers barriers for humanitarian and development actors to use professional procurement infrastructure. In deployments supported by the Foundation, registration is free for suppliers and SMEs, helping to create fairer, more transparent and more accessible markets for the non-profit sector globally.
Solvoz provides the underlying technology, hosting, maintenance and continued development through formal service agreements, ensuring continuity, security and professional delivery. This structure allows the Foundation to serve both sides of the market: supporting non-profit buyers with professional procurement infrastructure, while giving local and regional suppliers a fairer pathway to visibility and opportunity.
